And so I begin...
Qualify Me is a campaign derived from working in a world, in a society, to which Qualifications determine one's entire life, fortune, and future. They correctly assess how far we as humans can work, interact, be perceived and judged ~ what other way can you ensure the right person is employed, or the right student invested in, or the right captain of industry promoted?... Ah ha.
Although Qualify Me does not negate how society has successfully incorporated qualifications in determining these factors ~ surely, in 2011, there also has to be other factors to consider, other aspects to explore in a human being that can determine their status in society and how much we as society invest in them as people.
I am hoping this campaign will begin slowly ~ building support and interest and hopefully ideas on how to amend, change or even work alongside qualifications in order to 'judge' people. What about those who for whatever reason do not excel at school? Shall they be sidelined for life because we deem them unable to contribute to our exams and dissertations? What about those who have continued personal development, those with money to have qualifications without a brain, or that generation that has worked for 30 or 40 years without qualifications but now cannot excel in today's world without sitting some formal test or exam? Are they all redundant?
And so the discussions begin. x
